Name: Mike Cooper
Instrument: Alto/Tenor Saxophone
I do things like shed a tear over a small essay I wrote about a girl that affected me when I was younger, while I listen to a live mix of Miles Davis Live At The Plugged Nickel or a melancholic Eno track, contemplate a 2,000 share position, sketch out travel plans to Europe, transcribe a Catullus poem to my notebook, etc. etc.

I studied Latin, partly because I had so many Latin hours going into college, but also because in many ways I am most like a Roman, and I identify more with the Romans than I do with fellow Americans.

To be honest, I suppose I don't naturally associate with anyone. Catullus, Juvenal, Martial, anyone?

See, that's what it's been about all this time. I have always sought information.

Talking about my life is like defending myself at an interrogation. Who understands?

I look back at what I have done and know that I have come a long way, but that I still have much to accomplish. It begins...now.

There. That's it. I'm done.
